Intervention
and Assessment Services
|
|
African American Family Services (AAFS) provides diagnosis and
intervention or Rule 25 assessments for adults and adolescents.
Assessment and intervention staff provide alcohol and drug abuse
diagnosis, help plan treatment strategies, and assist in the
development of aftercare plans.
AAFS follows standard procedures for making diagnosis, but with a
definite culturally-specific flavor. AAFS works to find out how
chemical use has impacted the jobs, health and family situations of
clients. AAFS works to make the painful process of self-examination
and change as non-threatening as possible.
For more information, contact
the Institute on Black Chemical Abuse at (612) 871-7878 for
services in Minneapolis or at (651) 642-0021 for services in Saint
Paul.
