The Family programs of the African American Counseling Center (AACC) work to:

  • Strengthen the family unit
  • Prevent placement of children outside the home
  • Provide parent education, family/individual counseling and family support groups and activities
  • Enable families to cope with issues in a healthy manner

  • Family Violence Advocacy and Counseling
  • Male/Female Support Groups
  • Walk-in Counseling

Referrals for the Counseling Center are through self-referral, schools, community organizations and county agencies. Services can be provided to families in a range of four weeks to two years, depending on family need and program involvement.
